Birch Bend is easy to get to... yet difficult to leave
From dawn until dusk, natural beauty abounds, and western exposure gives you front row seats for the most spectacular sunsets. Birch Bend is the most perfect environment for sitting motionless in a lawn chair, soothed by the rustling leaves, lapping water and the occasional call of the loon.
Or, if the mood strikes you, there's plenty to do: Chemong Lake is famous for its pickerel, small and large mouth bass and muskie fishing. As well, boating, swimming, canoeing, adventuring, leisurely strolls and snorkeling are just some of the activities that Birch Bend offers for adults and kids alike.
We have excellent docking facilities, a clean, safe sandy beach, fishing boats with reliable motors, two kayaks, paddle boat and a canoe. And not to forget that the Buckhorn area is famous for its Wildlife Art Galleries, Craft Shows, Antique Stores, Petroglyph Provincial Park, Warsaw Caves and Kawartha Race Track (horse racing, car racing and slots).
In Spring and Summer, Mother Nature offers up abundant assortments of roses, peonies, lillies, a myriad of colourful perennials as well as trilliums, dog-toothed violets and flowering shrubs. The gardens scattered throughout the property invite our guests to enjoy them during a casual stroll any time. A pleasant two-hour drive from Toronto, Birch Bend is located just north of Peterborough, in the heart of the Kawartha Lake District.
At Birch Bend you can't run out of things to do, or ways to do nothing.
